Mikel Arteta adds three players to Arsenal’s 25-man Europa League squad

Arsenal have added three new players to their 25-man Europa League squad following the January transfer window.

But one individual has failed to make the cut and has been left out.

The players included in the squad, joining the likes of Bernd Leno, Hector Bellerin, Granit Xhaka and Alexandre Lacazette are: Mat Ryan, Gabriel Martinelli and new loan signing from Real Madrid, Martin Odegaard.

The individual who missed out is goalkeeper Alex Runarrson.

Arsenal made it out of Europa League Group B with no issues, winning all six of their six games against Molde, Rapid Vienna and Irish minnows Dundalk.

Tougher tests are in waiting for Arsenal, who take on Portuguese giants Benfica in the Round of 32, which takes place this month.

Arsenal travel to Lisbon for the away leg on February 18 before playing host to Benfica exactly one week later on the 25th.

The Gunners were knocked out of the same competition at the Round of 32 stage last season by Greek giants Olympiakos.

The Gunners won the first leg 1-0 in Greece but were beaten 2-1 at the Emirates, and crashed out of the competition on away goals.
