Former Tottenham striker Mido is almost unrecognisable these days after completing a remarkable body transformation over the past three years.
Mido, who enjoyed stints with Middlesbrough, Wigan and West Ham as well as Spurs, ballooned in weight after hanging up his boots in 2013 following a short spell with Barnsley.
The Egyptian eventually hit "rock bottom" and was pictured looking overweight on a boat in March 2018 – but that soon changed.
Three years on from that picture Mido now looks like a new man, having undergone a dramatic weight-loss programme in 2019 that was documented on his and trainer Aly Mazhar's Instagram pages.
The results were clear to see, with Mido developing a seriously impressive toned body that he has managed to maintain over the past few years.
Mazhar wrote on Instagram in 2019: "Hitting rock bottom after being recognised as an Egyptian football star and starting your coaching career, getting through surgery, changing your lifestyle and deciding to fully commit to it.
"Set your goal, have a plan, follow it and results will just be a matter of time.
"Most importantly BELIEVE in yourself, get the right support system around you and don’t listen to all the negative crap around us every single day.
"That’s will power and full dedication right there. This is the MIDO we all know. Hats off."

As well as ensuring his solid physique remains intact, Mido has tried his luck as a manager since calling time on his playing career in 2013, enjoying brief stints with clubs in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Belgium.
His last job came with Egyptian outfit El Makkasa, but after just seven months in the hot-seat he was sacked in January 2020.
Mido was capped 51 times by Egypt and scored 20 goals for his country, while also helping them win the African Cup of Nations in 2006.
He scored 20 goals in 63 games for Tottenham before leaving for Middlesbrough in 2007.
