Whether it is his iconic laugh, razor sharp wit, or, on this occasion, his snappy suits, Micah Richards has become one of the most loved pundits in football.
The former Manchester City defender made his television debut in 2019 and has since become one of the most recognisable and popular faces in punditry. As well as forming an interesting bromance with Roy Keane, and regularly appearing on Match of the Day, Richards is also regularly seen on the same table as the likes of Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher for CBS Sports.
The former Premier League trio, who come together on Champions League nights, have an excellent chemistry when they are sharing the panel. However, Richards found himself on the wrong end of a joke himself from CBS presenter Kate Abdo.

While Henry opted for the snappy tweed suit and Carragher chose his usual navy blue attire, Richards decided to go completely left-field with his sartorial choice. The ex-Aston Villa star opted for an audacious cream, pleated suit that well and truly made him stick out on the panel.
And, as one would imagine, Abdo could not resist poking fun at Richards’ choice of garments. “How was the boat race?” Abdo said on CBS’ Champions League coverage.
Initially, it took Richards a few moments to clock what Abdo said to him. “The boat race?” Richards replied with a significant tone of confusion in his voice.

When Abdo quickly replied, “the outfit man” Richards realised he had been schooled by the presenter. “Woah, come on,” Richards replied, while Henry and Carragher exploded into laughter.
After a brief moment of laughter, Richards then asked Abdo, “Are you saying I look like a sailor?” At the time of broadcasting, Richards would have just watched former side Manchester City go slightly off course in their Champions League group.
Their 100% record in Europe’s elite competition this season was ended, as FC Copenhagen held them to a commendable 0-0 draw.
