Micah Richards spends ‘£31,000 a year on haircuts’ – leaving Kate Abdo astounded
Kate Abdo could not believe her ears when she heard Micah Richards could spend up to “£31,000 per year on haircuts”.
The Manchester City legend is one of the most recognisable faces on sports television. He is a snappy dresser, with an equally sharp sense of humour and fit.
However, his masterful appearance, whether it is his wide array of flamboyantly suave suits or his consistently on point haircuts do come at a price – and a quite staggering one on that.

Richards was occupying his traditional position to the right hand side of Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry, and Kate Abdo for CBS’s Champions League coverage. Considering it was a rather quiet evening of football in Europe’s elite competition, there may not have quite been as much to unpack as usual.
Fortunately for the quartet, Richards’ ludicrously expensive haircuts were able to fill the dead air time. Abdo struck the fuse on the conversation when she asked who has the better haircut out of Richards and AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud.

Predictably, Richards was confident he edged the former Arsenal and Chelsea forward on that front. And so he probably should, considering the money he forks out for his three – yes, three – haircuts per week.
Carragher was the first to begin the inquisition saying" “How often do you get your hair cut?” to which Richard replied: “Three times a week.” Richards then tried to explain how he gets his haircut this often. “When I say the most, I mean when I’m working," Richards explained. "I’ll get a trim tomorrow for the Champions League and I’m working at the weekend so I’ll get a trim then."
Abdo then interjected, saying "The gallery tells me, right, the control right, they tell me if you did the maths on that – £600 per week times by 52 weeks in a year," before Richards interrupted to say he only gets his trim done that often during the football season.
Abdo then graciously compromised, adding, “Okay still let’s halve it, that’s £31,000 a year right. Let’s say it’s half of that, £15,000.”
This seemed to strike a particular chord with Richards as he grew surprisingly silent once he was informed of the figures. Fortunately, the Premier League winner will be able to afford it, due to his hugely successful football career and frequent television appearances.
