Micah Richards aimed a light-hearted dig at fellow pundit Jamie Carragher during CBS Sports’ live broadcast of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The much-loved quartet of Richards, Carragher, Thierry Henry and Kate Abdo were back on the channel’s airwaves for the return of the Champions League and it didn’t take long for them to get back into their usual flow.
Known for its humorous chat in their broadcasting, the show received rave reviews once again as it covered Newcastle’s draw with AC Milan before going into Manchester City’s win over Red Star Belgrade.
Richards was on hand to celebrate City’s win having made 245 appearances for the club over a ten-year period, with Arsenal legend Henry waiting for the Gunners’ return to the competition on Wednesday.
Carragher, however, who made his name for Liverpool, won’t be watching his team in the Champions League this season, and Richards was on hand to let him know.

‘Can I just make a reference?’ Richards asked it his usual enthusiasm.
‘We’ve been on air for five hours and we’ve not actually referenced that you should be doing Thursday nights.’
Carragher replied: ‘I’ll do Thursdays if you do Wednesdays,’ before the two broke down into laughter with Abdo again having to play the metaphorical peace-maker.
Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champions League this season, a competition they have won six times, just two years after reaching the final.
Jurgen Klopp’s side finished fifth in the Premier League last season in what was a difficult campaign for the side, instead qualifying for the Europa League, which is usually played on Thursday nights.
The Reds will take on LASK in Austria on Thursday as they return to the competition as favourties, and will play alongside Brighton, who have qualified for Europe for the first time in their history, and West Ham, who make a return to the Europa League after winning the Conference League last season.

The Reds have however enjoyed a positive start to this year’s campaign as they look to re-join Europe’s elite
The club have enjoyed a more successful start to this season in the Premier League as they bid to return to Europe’s elite, winning four of their first five league games and sitting third in the Premier League.
They trail City by two points having drawn on the opening day to Chelsea, while the defending champions – both in England and Europe – have won five from five.
The Reds are equal on points with Tottenham and Arsenal, while Brighton trail them by a singular point.
Liverpool will host West Ham this weekend in league, before difficult trips to Brighton and Tottenham as they look to maintain their positive start.
