Micah Richards "embarrasses" Gary Neville with Valencia dig after Man Utd defeat

Micah Richards “embarrassed” fellow pundit Gary Neville with a cheeky jibe following Manchester United’s defeat to Manchester City.

Richards’ former side City completely outclassed their rivals as they coolly beat them 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The loss marked the Red Devils’ third game since the brutal 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, after which manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was said to have three matches left in charge to prove his capability.

But with a draw against Atalanta midweek and now having suffered a fourth league defeat, discussions in the Sky Sports studio reached a boiling point over the Norwegian’s future.

Neville, a former Man United teammate and friend of Solskjaer, is known for his reluctance to blame the manager, often focusing on players who have underperformed and therefore let Solskjaer down.

“Micah got more managers sacked at City,” quipped Neville, suggesting his fellow-right back bore similarities with United’s current players in his playing days.

But the ex-City captain, who had questioned Solskjaer’s ability earlier on the show, immediately hit back with a brutal response by saying: “I’d still last longer than you in a job though!”

Despite being laughed off, the dig poked fun at Neville’s infamously poor spell as a manager while in charge of Valencia.

He was sacked less than four months into the job back in 2016, having only won three out of 16 league matches.
