MICAH RICHARDS: Aguero is up there with best ever strikers
MICAH RICHARDS: If I had to pick someone to score to save my life, it would be Sergio Aguero… he’s up there with some of the best strikers to grace the Premier League
- Manchester City have confirmed that Sergio Aguero will leave at end of season
- Aguero is up there with the best Premier League strikers to ever play
- Even at age of 33, I believe Aguero is still capable of 15-20 goals per season
- If I was to pick someone to score to save my life, I’d pick Aguero every time
I’m devastated. That was my initial reaction as someone who loves Manchester City and who feels honoured to have played alongside Sergio Aguero. Not only is he an incredible player, he is an incredible person — one of the most humble you could meet. I owe a lot to him.
For starters, without this man I would not be a Premier League title winner!
Aguero turns 33 in June. Do I believe he’s still got plenty to give? Of course I do. A fully fit Aguero, even at his age, can score you 15, 20 goals a season.
If I had to pick a player to save my life, I would pick Sergio Aguero every single time
The Argentine is up there with the very best Premier League strikers of all time
This is not a striker who is over the hill, so that’s why this decision is difficult for me to accept. He is arguably the best striker to grace the Premier League, up there with Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry.
The amazing thing is, I remember wondering what all the fuss was about when he started training with us. But once he walked on to the pitch in a competitive game, boy, did he prove he was special.
I was lucky enough to provide the assist for his first City goal, at Swansea in 2011.
I said to him: ‘Sergio! Where did that come from? In training, I didn’t see this!’ He smiled and said: ‘Training tranquillo! The game is important!’ What a man. If I had to pick someone to score to save my life, it would be Aguero, every single time.
I provided him with the assist for his first goal, he proved he was special even then
