It’s six years to the day that Sporting Lisbon’s President Bruno de Carvalho incredibly labelled West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and the late David Gold as the ‘dildo Brothers’.

The Sporting owner was involved in a bitter dispute with the then Hammers co-owners after a move for Portugal international midfielder William Carvalho fell through.

Bruno de Carvalho’s dig was made due to the West Ham pair making their money in the pornography industry.

Gold was the managing director of women’s lingerie company Ann Summers and initially made his £500million fortune in soft porn content, which he insisted he was ‘never ever ashamed’ of.

The ex-business rivals joined forces, and Sullivan and Gold sold softcore pornographic photos, before expanding to sex shops, adult magazines and making several porn films. Sullivan also owned the Daily Star and Sunday Sport between 1986 and 2007 – later selling for £40million.

Both were keen footballers in youth and ventured into club ownership in 1993 as they bought Birmingham City. After 16 years at St Andrew's, they sold up and bought West Ham alongside Birmingham managing director Karen Brady.

But the duo aren’t alone in a list of sex-obsessed football owners. Here the Daily Star Sport looks at eight of football’s horniest club owners.

David Gold and David Sullivan – West Ham

The Sporting President branded Sullivan a “liar” and “parasite” for not giving Carvalho enough time for a medical after fees had been agreed between the clubs. West Ham fans later poked fun at their owners by bringing inflatable sex toys into the ground.

Although they’re not brothers, the slur was aimed at their shared business ventures.

West Ham even named former business partner and porn star ‘Vorley’ – real name Emma Benton-Hughes – as a director on the club board.

    Ronaldo – Real Valladolid

Ronaldo became the majority owner of Segunda Division side Real Valladolid in April 2020, but the notorious womaniser hasn’t been able to shake his playboy reputation.

R9 got more than he bargained for as he took three prostitutes back to a Brazilian hotel room, only to find out they were in fact men, before attempting to pay them off.

Ronaldo was also caught by a security guard having sex with two women in the presidential box at the Camp Nou. He also claimed at Real Madrid: "I have noticed that in some games that I played better because I had sex before them."

    Ronaldinho – MASL

Another sex-mad Brazilian, Ronaldinho will take his bad-boy reputation to the US after he bought an expansion team in the Major Arena Soccer League.

The Ballon d’Or winner previously had two girlfriends at once living in his Rio de Janeiro mansion, although it’s said he would swap rooms with them every night, rather than all three cuddle up.

He also appeared in a music video surrounded by naked models and once dated Italian porn star Sara Tommasi for two months.

    Silvio Berlusconi – Italy

Don Controversy himself, the former Italian Prime Minister and notorious AC Milan owner lived an eccentric life and wasn’t afraid about his business being public.

Berlusconi’s infamous ‘Bunga Bunga’ sex-fuelled parties were legendary and he even offered his Monza squad sex workers after a comeback win in 2022.

    Pele – Aberdeen

Pele was a shock minority shareholder in Aberdeen, but his sex life was even more shocking. The Brazilian was a serial cheater and admitted he lost count of how many children he was father to.

He was asked about whether his profile in his homeland made it tough to stay faithful in relationships, Pele said: "In all honesty it was. I’ve had a few affairs, some of which resulted in children.

"But I only learned about them later. My first wife, my first girlfriend, knew all about it. I never lied to anyone."

    David Beckham – Inter Miami

Victoria Beckham is never shy about confessing her and Golden Balls’ sex life, and seemingly the married couple of 24 years haven’t slowed down.

She said: "I'm getting into bed with David Beckham every night, so, you know, there'd be something wrong if I said, 'sleep'.”

Posh admitted she’d “tend to wear nothing,” in bed and claimed David’s manhood is “Huge, it is like a tractor exhaust pipe!"

    Ryan Giggs – Salford City

The Salford City co-owner’s sex life has made front page headlines, and not just once.

Giggs had an eight-year affair with his brother’s wife that came to light in 2011 and the Welsh wizard also cheated on his ex-wife with Big Brother’s Imogen Thomas – which became public knowledge the same year.

    Mohamed Al-Fayed – Fulham

The former Fulham owner asked players whether they had “big balls today,” before games and offered Viagra to them before games so they could ‘enjoy themselves after they won.’

Former Fulham boss Chris Coleman said: "When I was a player he went through a phase of coming into the dressing room before games to hand out Viagra tablets to the players, saying, 'Make sure you win and you can have a good weekend'."
