Meet the 24 players who made just one Man Utd appearance in the Premier League
Manchester United have long had a reputation for giving first-team opportunities to youngsters.
Famously, the Red Devils have named an academy graduate in every matchday squad since 1938, while the club's Cliff training ground has passed into legend as the place where the likes of David Beckham and Paul Scholes honed their craft.
But for every Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Marcus Rashford who made the grade at Old Trafford, there's a Josh Harrop, Tom Thorpe or Donald Love who got a sweet – but brief – taste of first-team life at United.
Daily Star Sport take a look back at 24 players who made just one Premier League appearance for the Red Devils.
1. Josh Harrop
Josh Harrop holds the proud distinction of being the only player on this list to have scored on his solitary Premier League appearance for United, finding the net against Crystal Palace in 2017.
Not long after, Harrop rejected a new contract at Old Trafford and joined Preston North End in order to play more first-team football.
The 25-year-old has made 94 appearances for the Championship side but was omitted from the club's squad for the new season, with manager Frankie McAvoy saying the club had stronger midfielders at their disposal.
2. Joel Pereira
3. Demetri Mitchell
4. Ben Amos
5. Bojan Djordjic

Big things were expected of Bojan Djordjic after he won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year Award in 2000, but instead of nailing down a first-team place at Old Trafford, the Swede embarked on a nomadic career around Europe.
After leaving the Red Devils, Djordjic had spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Rangers, Plymouth and Blackpool as well as AIK, Videoton, Royal Antwerp and Swedish side Vasalund.
He finished his career playing in India and now works as a pundit on United's official TV station, MUTV. Not bad for someone who only made one Premier League appearance.
6. Colin McKee
7. Lee Martin
8. Michael Keane
9. Tom Thorpe
10. Nick Culkin
Goalkeeper Nick Culkin was signed by United for £100,000 from York City in September 1995, and is best remembered for holding one of the Premier League's more peculiar records.
Culkin, who is now 43, holds the record for the shortest debut in division's history, replacing Raimond van der Gouw against Arsenal in 1999, only for game to finish immediately after he took a free-kick.
Curiously, he was also the first player to appear for both Manchester United and FC United of Manchester, the breakaway club formed in protest against the Glazer's ownership of the Red Devils.
11. Tom Lawrence
12. James Weir
13. David Healy
14. Donald Love
15. Manucho
Not all of United's one appearances wonders come from the academy, Angolan ace Manucho was 25 when he joined from Petro Atletico during the 2008 winter transfer window.
After one season, two loan spells, and one solitary Premier League league appearance against Stoke, he was bombed out to Real Valladolid in 2009.
He went on to play 98 games for the Spanish side before joining Rayo Vallecano and finishing his career with minnows Cornella.
16. Lee Roche
17. Philip Mulryne
18. Kieran Lee
19. Danny Pugh
20. Fangzhou Dong
Signed from Dalian Shide in 2004, Dong faced work permit problems following his move to Old Trafford and spent his first two seasons out on loan at Royal Antwerp, scoring 34 goals.
Unfortunately, the China international couldn't reproduce that form for United, not that he really got the chance, making a solitary outing alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer against Chelsea.
Despite having to deal with with accusations that he was only brought to the club as a marketing plot, Dong is a popular figure among United fans and is something of a cult hero.
21. Ricardo
22. Paul Rachubka
23. Will Fish
24. Hannibal Mejbri
18-year-old Hannibal Mejbri is one of a number of promising kids knocking on the door of the first-team at Old Trafford.
Brought to the club from Monaco in 2018, the midfielder made his one and only Premier League appearance to date as an 82nd minute substitute in a 2-1 win over Wolves on the final day of last season.
Mejbri will be hoping to take his name off of this list in the near future, and if his immense promise is anything to go by, it won't be very long at all before that happens.
