Scott McTominay is currently enjoying a well-earned summer break but that hasn’t stopped him rubbing shoulders with sporting stars.
The Manchester United midfielder’s long season only came to an end on June 22 after Scotland bowed out of the Euro 2020 group stage.
And on Monday night, the 22-year-old uploaded a picture of himself next to British heavyweight world boxing champion Anthony Joshua.

Taking to Instagram to share the photo of the pair all smiles, McTominay captioned it: ‘What a true gentleman, class act @anthonyjoshua’.
McTominay still has some time off before he joins up with his United team-mates for pre-season training – which began on Monday.
For Joshua though he is fully in the swing of things in terms of working out as he prepares to face Oleksandr Usyk on September 25.
Joshua, the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight title holder, was due to have an all-British heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury this summer but a legal ruling in the United States wrecked a proposed fight in Saudi Arabia on August 14.
Speaking ahead of Joshua versus Usyk, former cruiserweight king Tony Bellew described the former as the ‘best athletic heavyweight’ in the last 20 years and backed him to beat Usyk.
That opinion would place Joshua above Fury and Deontay Wilder, but Bellew insisted that the Watford-born superstar is ‘on another level to everybody else’.
Joshua will take on Oleksandr Usyk on September 25 to defend his WBA, IBF and WBO straps
Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: ‘I know exactly how good Usyk is. He’s an amazing talent. Best fighter I ever fought. But I don’t believe he’s big enough and dangerous enough to cause AJ problems.
‘Well, he’s big enough to cause him problems, I don’t think he’d last long enough to defeat him. But he will cause problems while he’s standing and he’s [AJ] going to have to get rid of him.
‘He’ll put the pressure on, make him pay for every single thing he earns in there.
‘AJ is the best athletic heavyweight I’ve seen in the last two decades. As an athlete, mate, he’s unbelievable. He’s an unbelievable specimen, he really is. The power he can move at, the speed he can move at, the dexterity; it’s unbelievable.
‘He’s on another level to everybody else. He’s just got to keep improving on that boxing IQ, which he is. He showed that against Andy Ruiz Jr in the rematch. How unbelievable he was.’
Usyk will be looking to cause a shock against the British heavyweight world champion
