Mbappe’s mother lashes out at reporter with "shut up" jibe over PSG U-turn
Kylian Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari told French journalist Frederic Hermal to "shut up" after the Paris Saint-Germain forward reportedly u-turned on a move to Real Madrid.
The Frenchman brought down the curtain on a pulsating transfer saga by deciding to snub the La Liga champions and remain at PSG. Mbappe was understood to have agreed a deal with both Los Blancos and the French giants, but the 23-year-old will remain at the Parc des Princes.
He is expected to announce his contract renewal later today or tomorrow, in what will be miraculous news for the Ligue 1 champions. And Lamari responded to Hermel’s insinuation that Mbappe had agreed a deal with Real Madrid in brutal fashion.
“Mr. Hermel, when we don’t know, we shut up,” Lamari said to Hermel on Twitter, via Get French Football News. “We never had an agreement (with Real Madrid).”
Mbappe’s eye-watering renewal is believed to include a humongous £100m signing on fee, £4m a month in wages, and most shockingly, “complete control” of the club’s sporting project. This U-turn also brings down the curtain on Real’s pursuit of the World Cup winner which began last season, when they made an audacious £171m bid for his services on transfer deadline day.
For several weeks, Mbappe was almost considered to be a Real Madrid player, with many believing the club had agreed a £40m year contract with him. But despite Lamari’s insistence that a deal was never agreed, her previous comments about her son’s future suggests otherwise.

“We will not have new meetings to discuss Mbappe's future, these meetings are now over,” she told Kora Plus, via the Daily Mail. “Now we have found an agreement with both Real Madrid and PSG and the discussions are over because it is Kylian who has to choose now.
“The two offers, that of PSG and Real, are almost identical. At Real, my son will have control of his image rights! We will now await his decision. In the Real Madrid offer we have full power of image rights, on the other hand there is an economic balance that rewards this thing, in short there is no difference between the two are similar.”
