Mbappe and Neymar axed from PSG squad as Premier League clubs hope for loans

Guardiola: 'Mbappe not joining Man City — you know where he wants to go.'

Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have been dealt a brutal snub by PSG boss Luis Enrique after being axed from the squad from their Ligue 1 opener on Saturday. The pair have been told to leave the club this summer as part of the French champions’ major clearout at Parc des Princes and despite their star status in Paris, both Mbappe and Neymar will not be part of the 20-man squad for the game against Lorient.

PSG announced on Saturday morning their 20-man squad for their home match, and the champions are set to be without Mbappe and Neymar after leaving them at home.

Both players are facing uncertain futures at the club after a turbulent summer for the French giants. Mbappe has insisted he will be staying at the club this summer despite releasing a statement confirming he will not renew his contract beyond 2024, with reports suggesting he has already penned a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid.

PSG are looking to sell the World Cup winner, though, while they can still attract a sizeable fee for his services.

Mbappe has already turned down a mega offer from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal which could have see him earn £600m-a-year, after their world-record £259m bid was accepted by PSG.

As for Neymar, the Brazilian has been told he can find a new club, with interest from Chelsea, Barcelona and several clubs in the USA and Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old cost a world-record £198m fee six years ago after PSG triggered his release clause at Barcelona and he has scored 118 goals in 173 appearances. However, injuries have hampered the winger during his time in Paris and he has been persistently linked with a move away from the club.
