Mauricio Pochettino ‘waiting for Man Utd call’ with PSG boss ‘ready to accept’
Mauricio Pochettino is said to be patiently waiting for the chance to join Manchester United as their new manager just six months after signing a contract extension with PSG.
The Red Devils appointed Ralf Rangnick on a six-month contract following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the club openly saying they will look for a new boss for 2022/23.
Pochettino has been linked to the Old Trafford role since his final few seasons at Tottenham, but eventually joined PSG where he is on course to win Ligue 1 after Coupe de France glory last season.
Despite their 14 wins from 19 victories and qualification into the Champions League knock-out rounds, the Argentine is said to be planning his next move.
The Sun report that Pochettino is 'awaiting the official call' from United.
They add that the call will 'almost certainly' be made before the summer, and that there is every indication that Pochettino and his team will accept the offer.
Rangnick is set to move into a behind the scenes role after his time in the dugout comes to an end, having received criticism following their recent defeat to Wolves.

Pochettino said after rumours swirled over his future in November: "The players know very well our situation.
"We know their situation. We are living in a business that rumours are there, sometimes negative, sometimes positive. That is not a thing to talk about – the rumours.”
Adding: "We need to improve in all aspects, all the areas, although we have improved from the start of the season. The team are better than a month ago and they are much better than two months ago.
"Little by little, step by step."
Back in May of last year, Pochettino was heavily linked with a move back to Tottenham to the fury of chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
He told L'Equipe: "He never had an attitude that suggested he wanted to leave. It's the opposite. He was totally involved in the issues: the club, the structure, the organisation, what he needs for the next season."
|He talks to Leonardo almost every day about the transfer window, the players, etc. This situation really bothers me, it is not suitable.
“He is here since January, he still has two years of contract, he is our coach. Both for him and for [Kylian] Mbappé, people are trying to annoy us. But we are together. No one will divide us by doing this."
