Mauricio Pochettino responds to PSG’s Dele Alli and Lionel Messi transfer links
Mauricio Pochettino has refused to rule out moving for either Dele Alli or Lionel Messi during his first press conference as PSG manager.
The former Tottenham boss was appointed on Saturday, and met the press for the first time ahead of his side's game against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday.
There has been speculation Pochettino could bid to bring his former player Alli to Parc des Princes, with the 24-year-old seemingly disillusioned with life under Jose Mourinho at Spurs.
There have also been rumours that Pochettino's compatriot Lionel Messi may be tempted with a move to France, with his Barcelona contract expiring at the end of the season.
Responding to questions about the players, Pochettino did not give much away – but appeared to leave the door open for a potential double transfer swoop.
"We are not talking about [possible signings] but about adapting ourselves to the club, and we have a game tomorrow," he said.
"But I already said that in the future there will be time to talk about those things. A great player is always welcome at PSG."
Meanwhile Pochettino is clearly highly excited to work with the group of players he already has, and heaped praise upon Kylian Mbappe in particular.
"It is an incredible group with very great players, but that is not news," he added.
"A great player like Mbappe can play in many positions. The most important thing is how he attacks the spaces, how he is on the field, like the rest.
"We will find the best place for him to better exploit its qualities."
PSG currently sit in third place in Ligue 1 but are only a point behind leaders Lyon and second placed Lille.
Their main priority, however, is Champions League success after getting to the final last season, and they face a last-16 tie against Barcelona next month.
