Mason Mount’s camp are in ‘disbelief’ after Chelsea rejected Manchester United’s latest transfer bid, it has been claimed. The Blues turned down an offer worth £55million on Friday. However, there’s still hope a deal will be concluded with the 24-year-old eager to leave Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford.
Manchester United thought a bid of £55m was reasonable for Mount, with the midfielder having just a year left on his contract in west London.
But Chelsea decided to rebuff their latest approach, with the Blues looking for a fee closer to £65m to do business instead.
Now, according to Relevo, there is ‘disbelief’ from Mount’s camp over Chelsea deciding to turn down the latest offer.
However, there remains hope a deal will be completed with the 24-year-old willing to jump ship this summer.
Mount’s career has stalled over the past 12 months, with the academy graduate regressing under bosses such as Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.

Chelsea had originally hoped to tie the midfielder down to a new contract.
But with no agreement reached, they’re now facing the prospect of selling Mount instead.
United boss Erik ten Hag sees the England international as perfect for his side as he looks to win the Premier League title next season.
And Mount isn’t the only player the Dutchman is eyeing as he sets about improving his side.
United may be forced to recruit a new goalkeeper amid uncertainty over David De Gea’s future.

The Spain international will become a free agent on Friday, while Dean Henderson may also jump ship.
United appear to be pursuing a deal for Inter Milan star Andre Onana who, like Mount, is keen to make the move to the Premier League.
And Jordan Pickford and Diogo Costa, of Everton and Porto respectively, have been linked as well.
United may bolster their defence with the arrival of a new right-back this summer.
And it’s an open secret they’re on the lookout for a fresh No 9 to play at the tip of Ten Hag’s attack.
Harry Kane is their dream target, though United know Tottenham won’t let their talisman go without a fight.
Victor Osimhen, Rasmus Hojlund, Goncalo Ramos and Dusan Vlahovic also have admirers at the club.
Meanwhile, regarding Mount, Jamie Carragher recently had his say on the prospect of United signing the Chelsea star.
And while he praised the Blues playmaker, he expressed a belief Ten Hag should be pursuing Declan Rice instead.
“Mason Mount is an upgrade on [Christian] Eriksen in terms of where he plays,” Carragher told the Metro.
“Going back to Declan Rice, United are one of the few teams at the top who don’t play 4-3-3. It’s usually two midfielders with Bruno Fernandes.
“Declan Rice and Mason Mount, they are very different players and it shouldn’t be one or the other but when you look at what Manchester United have got right now, I actually think Declan Rice would be a better fit for them. A lot more expensive of course.
“I do think he [Mount] is a good player and I like him, I wanted Liverpool to get him.
“Lots of coaches have picked him and like him. There is already a good player in there but Declan Rice would suit United more than Mason Mount in terms of how they set up.”
