Mason Greenwood sports new haircut in rare appearance after rape and GBH arrest

Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood sported a new hairstyle in a rare public appearance following his arrest on suspicion of rape and GBH.

Greenwood has rarely been seen out and about since he was first arrested in January earlier this year. But he was photographed by The Sun at his parents' £3million Cheshire home chasing his parent's runaway dog and sporting a new fluffy haircut.

Wearing a black jumper and talking on the phone, Greenwood, standing behind a black Audi, offered a quick glance at the camera. He remains suspended by 13-time Premier League champions United following his arrest seven months ago.

The 20-year-old England footballer was released on conditional bail after spending three nights in a cell following his arrest. He was also arrested on suspicion of threats to kill. His bail was due to expire in April but was extended after Greater Manchester Police (GMP) applied to the courts.

His bail was further extended after a hearing in June. GMP said at the time: "Following a hearing yesterday, a 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of rape, assault and making threats to kill on Sunday, 30 January 2022, remains on bail."

United released a short statement at the end of March providing an update on Greenwood's status. It read: "There has been no change whatsoever in Mason’s status.

"We removed his profile from the club app soon after he was removed from the squad in January. This was in order to remove Mason from interactive elements of the app, such as team predictions."

Greenwood was removed from FIFA 22 and dropped by Nike in the wake of the allegations against him. Football Manager 2022 also confirmed that he will not feature after their recent winter update.

The forward scored 35 goals in 129 games for Manchester United prior to his arrest.
