Martinelli reveals he wants to follow in Aubameyang's footsteps

Gabriel Martinelli has revealed that he is eager to follow in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s footsteps at Arsenal.
Martinelli has often been deployed on the left wing for Arsenal but is also capable of playing up front, with Aubameyang having also been used in both positions.
Although his progress has been halted by injuries, Martinelli has often impressed when fit and the 19 year old is determined to carry on making an impact.

Martinelli told ESPN: ‘I’m feeling very good. I don’t feel any more pain on my knee and this is the most important thing. I’m ready when Mikel needs me.’
‘I’m working very hard (to start). Of course Auba plays in my position but I look to him every day, in every training, to learn as much as I can from him, he’s also a great guy off the pitch.
‘I want to follow into Aubameyang’s footsteps, he’s a captain, he wears the No. 14 shirt, that is a symbol for this club and of course, I hope to be very successful at Arsenal.’
Martinelli disclosed that the experienced Aubameyang has helped him greatly off the pitch
In his first season at Arsenal Martinelli scored an impressive ten goals in 26 appearances.
This season the Brazilian has seen his opportunities limited due to injuries as he has only played seven times.
However, Martinelli will hope that he can impress for Arsenal in the closing stages of this campaign.
The usually prolific Aubameyang has often struggled this season, while Arsenal can also call upon Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah up front.
