Martin Tyler forced to apologise as fan heard screaming ‘f***ing k***head’

Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler was forced to apologise live on Sky Sports’ coverage of Liverpool’s clash at home to league leaders Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.

The explicit rant could be heard clearly through television screens as the pitch side microphones picked up one Liverpool fan evidentially frustrated with the Reds falling behind to an early Gabriel Martinelli goal.

With Jurgen Klopp’s side 1-0 down, the ball went out for a Liverpool throw in on the far side of the ground to the dugouts, with the ball taking its time returning to the pitch from the stands as Ibrahima Konate stood beckoning for the ball back.

As the ball was eventually returned Trent Alexander-Arnold was left short of options with a frustrated Liverpool fan in the crowd unable to hide his anger as he shouted: “Get on with it you f***ing little k***head” as Liverpool failed to take advantage of the situation.

With the shout clearly audible, experienced football commentator Tyler was forced to apologise.

Paddy Power tweeted their reaction to the incident, tweeting: "'Get on with it you f***in k***head,' screams one Liverpool fan over the mic. There really is no place like Anfield."

Reaction to the shouts on Twitter varied, with one account questioning why the language was something that needed to be apologised for, tweeting: “It’s a football game. How is calling him a “f***ing k***head” not appropriate?”

Liverpool have so far endured a season of struggle with the Reds sat 8th in the table, 13 points behind the Champions League places.

Key players in previous years Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander Arnold both found themselves at fault as Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus put Arsenal 2-0 up before the half hour mark.
