England beat Senegal 3-0 in their last-16 tie on Sunday evening to set up a quarter-final clash with the reigning champions, France.
Sportsmail columnist Martin Keown has said England must perform better against France than they did against Senegal or they could crash out of the 2022 World Cup.
He also expressed his concerns over Kyle Walker’s ability to contain Kylian Mbappe – who netted twice against Poland to overtake both Cristiano Ronaldo and Diego Maradona in the standings for number of World Cup goals scored.
He thinks Mbappe’s blistering pace could be problematic for the 32-year-old defender and insisted he would need help from his team-mates. However, Keown did heap praise on Gareth Southgate’s attacking line by claiming they are ‘envy of the world’.
