Martial’s wife fires another dig at Solskjaer over injury truth at Man Utd

Anthony Martial's wife has taken another dig at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after her husband was left out Manchester United's matchday squad for the trip to Tottenham.

The Frenchman's last appearance for the Red Devils came back at the beginning of October when he scored the opener in the draw with Everton at Old Trafford.

Martial has since been left out by Solskjaer and was not included in the 18 for the visit to north London.

Solskjaer suggested the forward was edging towards a return following his spell on the sidelines, but Martial's wife Melanie claims her husband has been fit and available all along.

She was asked by one of her Instagram followers if Martial was injured and replied: "Anthony has never been injured. He only had food poisoning two weeks ago."

The gorgeous brunette also posted a picture on Saturday of the out-of-favour United forward on an exercise bike alongside a cryptic post that read: "Never give up".

This isn't the first time Martial's wife has been involved in a social media controversy concerning the Red Devils either.

Last month Melanie appeared to take a dig at Solskjaer on TikTok.

On a video of her receiving a manicure, in which she wishes her followers a happy Sunday, her account liked a comment that wanted to send a message to Martial.

The comment read: "Tell Anthony the sun will shine again once Zidane arrives."

That sun may take a little longer to shine for Martial following United's comprehensive 3-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has struggled for game time this season following the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

Although the latter has been used sparingly, it means United now have seven attacking players for only two or three positions.

Such intense competition for places has limited Martial to just two Premier League starts so far this season.
