Anthony Martial is battling to be fit for Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Newcastle at Old Trafford on Sunday, but Harry Maguire will once again miss out.
Martial is recovering from the back strain he suffered at Everton last weekend, less than half an hour into his first start of the season.
The Frenchman has now suffered three separate injuries since Ten Hag took over in the summer and has yet to complete a full 90 minutes for United in more than a year.

Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to lead the attack again if Martial is ruled out, having come on to score the 700th club goal of his career at Goodison Park.
Maguire will definitely not be available against Newcastle, but Ten Hag expects his captain to return to training in the next week or so having missed the last four games.
‘Anthony Martial can be (available) but we have to wait to see how he develops in the coming hours,’ said Ten Hag.

‘Harry Maguire will not make this game, but it doesn’t take long I think. I think next week he’ll be back in team training or over after next week.’
Ten Hag expects a tough test against Newcastle who sit one point behind United in sixth place in the Premier League table having played a game more.
‘They do really well,’ added the United boss. ‘I think it’s a team who can play in high intensity with a lot of energy and that makes it a tough opponent. We know we have to play our best to get the right result.’
