‘Marmite manager’ Sean Dyche pleads for Everton fans to get onside immediately
Sean Dyche hopes Everton’s boo boys can put their anger to one side and get behind his side as he kicks off his reign at Goodison Park.
The new boss begins his battle to beat the drop against Premier League leaders Arsenal tomorrow and wants the fans' backing.
Blues supporters have been raging with the club’s board for months and staged protests after their last home game against Southampton. They were further enraged that the only transfer business the club did during January was to sell Anthony Gordon to Newcastle.

Dyche said: “It's easy to take the wheel of the ship in calm water, not so much when it's choppy water, we want the fans to play a part in that.
“It is choppy water, no denying that, the club isn't where it wants to be. We want the fans to reconnect with us, it's easy to say, I've got to earn my spurs, I'm a marmite manager anyway – not everyone wants you.
“We want them to support from the off, wear their hearts on their sleeves, even the ones who have angles questions, if they can park it for a little while and hopefully reconnect with us.”
Will Dyche keep Everton up? Let us know in the comments section below.
Dyche, 51, has replaced Frank Lampard who was sacked late last month after a run of just one win in 14 games left the Toffees second from bottom in the league and out of the FA Cup. But it is a turbulent time at the club with fans calling for the board to be sacked growing even louder.
He added: “What I know about Evertonians is they stick by their club, look after it and that's what we need now, the manager, staff, players, need that full support.
“The first game is important as a start point, before a ball rolls.”
