Marcus Rashford speaks to Man Utd team-mates to work out his secret to success

Marcus Rashford has been a constant thorn in the side of Premier League defenders since he first burst on to the scene, and has shed light on the kind of tactics he deploys to stay ahead of his opposition.

The England international was talking to former Manchester United icons Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport's 'Rio Ferdinand's Behind The Lines', where he explained the kind of methods he uses to gain an advantage on the pitch.

Rashford explained: "I just try and give the defenders what they wouldn't want, I speak a lot to our defenders and ask 'what would you not want to play against?'"

"I just try and give that to the other teams."

United have enjoyed a stellar 2020/21 campaign, with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer guiding his side to a comfortable top four finish, with the Red Devils' currently sitting in second, ten points adrift from league leaders and local rivals Manchester City.

There is still a chance for United to finish the season with silverware to show for it, as Solksjaer's men take on Villarreal later this month in the Europa League final.

It has been a mixed season individually for Rashford, who is likely to fall short of last season's league goal tally of 17 (he currently sits on 10 with just three games to go), but has enjoyed a personal best in terms of assists, with the 23-year-old providing nine goals for his teammates.

The United forward went on to praise Solksjaer's tactical approach compared to previous managers.

When asked if he enjoyed the Norwegian's free-flowing football, he said: "I think that is when we play our best football.

"Under Jose (Mourinho), everything was a bit like…you play there, you play there, and you can do a job but it was difficult for me to play my best.
