Marcus Rashford has been left out of Manchester United's squad to face Fulham – but not for the reason you might think.
There were fears he could be dropped as punishment for going on a night out after United's derby day humiliation last weekend, but it's understood Rashford's absence has nothing to do with that. Rather the England forward sustained a heavy knock to his leg in training this week and has been left out as precaution.
Rashford apologised to Erik ten Hag after the Dutchman branded his decision to go partying after the club's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City "unacceptable" and it's understood the situation has been resolved internally.

Rashford turned 26 on Tuesday but decided to head out into town to celebrate with some friends on Sunday night after the Manchester derby. Ten Hag criticised Rashford's actions but played down talk of it being anything more than a minor issue.
"It is unacceptable," he told reporters on Friday. "I told him, he apologised and that is it. It is an internal matter. He is very motivated to put things right. I know how much effort he is putting in. He makes a mistake but that doesn’t [mean] he is not fitting in. He makes one mistake but also off the pitch what he is doing, how he lives, I am sure he is doing everything right to help the team."

United are in full-blown crisis mode after suffering back-to-back 3-0 defeats at the hands of City and Newcastle in the past week. Defeat to Fulham could put Ten Hag's future at the club in serious jeopardy, despite the fact there are reportedly no plans to sack him at the moment.

Having lost five of their first 10 matches, the Red Devils are in the midst of their worst ever start to a Premier League season, and failing to win today could see them drop into the bottom half. Rashford, who was United's top scorer last season with 30 goals in all competitions, has scored just once in 14 games so far.
