Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided to start Jadon Sancho against Leeds in his side’s Premier League curtain-raiser, reports say. The winger has barely trained since moving to Old Trafford. But it seems like he’s set for his debut at the earliest opportunity.
Sancho only trained with United for the first time on Monday.
But The Sun say he’s primed to start against Leeds, with Solskjaer ready to throw him in at the deep end as he looks to get their Premier League campaign off to a positive start.
United are going to pick the 21-year-old in the absence of Marcus Rashford, who has now had shoulder injury after playing through pain for a year.
And Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial are going to start around the former Manchester City star in attack as they look to secure all three points.
That would mean Edinson Cavani having to make do with a place on the bench, despite ending the previous campaign in fine form.
United will be hoping to fare better than they did on the opening day of last season.

They went into the campaign full of optimism after finishing fourth under Solskjaer the previous year, with a 2-0 win away at Leicester securing Champions League qualification.
But they lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace at home, piling the pressure on Solskjaer right from the very beginning.
This is the biggest season of the Norweigan’s reign, too, particularly after a summer spending spree.
Sancho set the club back a massive £73million upon moving from Borussia Dortmund, making him the third most-expensive signing in the club’s history.
Only Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire and Romelu Lukaku have cost more – and the United star will be hoping to make an instant impact against Leeds on Saturday.
The Red Devils have also signed Raphael Varane, too.

Though it’s currently unknown whether the France international will be available to face Leeds, with United in a race against time.
Solskjaer was recently coy on the matter, saying: “They (Sancho and Varane) still haven’t trained with us and I need to see how they are.
“I can’t see them being available for Everton [final pre-season friendly] but hopefully they will be ready to be on the bench [against Leeds].
“We’ve not got everyone back yet and we’re still lacking a few.
“Every year that there’s a championship it’s difficult. Luke [Shaw], Harry [Maguire], Fred – a few – will only have the Everton game to prepare.

“It’s still not perfect because I think teams with fewer players in tournaments do have an advantage early on but we’re as ready as we can be.
“Fred played nine games over the summer and he’s had three weeks away from us and then two weeks to get ready again, so they should be ready.”
Bruno Fernandes, meanwhile, is excited about Sancho and Varane joining.
“Of course,” he said when asked if he was happy to have the pair on board.
“When you see the names that are coming and what they have done in the last few seasons, we are really happy with everyone that is coming in.
“Of course to keep the lads who have been here the last few seasons is important because you have to grow up and at the same time you have to keep the same players to know we are doing better and better.
“With this team, we know we can do better, but adding some players to the team helps the team be better.
“We always want to help the ones who come into the club. Anyone who comes into the club to be part of the group will get help from everyone because as we always say it’s like a family here.
“We are together for a long, long time and the season will be long and we hope it will be as long as possible so we can win some trophies and at the same time we want to help everyone to be settled in the team.
“That’s really important as I said before, we want this club and this group to be like a family and we will do everything to do that.”
