Manchester United would be willing to sign Jadon Sancho for a reduced fee of around £50million, according to reports. The England international was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority target during the summer transfer window. But, in the end, a move to Old Trafford broke down due to Borussia Dortmund’s massive demands.
United have long admired Sancho.
Jose Mourinho tried to bring the England international to the club in 2017 once it emerged he’d be leaving Manchester City behind.
That didn’t happen, ultimately, with Sancho choosing to prioritise first-team football in Germany with Dortmund instead.
Solskjaer wanted to recruit the England international in 2019 but, in the end, their failure to secure Champions League football counted against them.
And United tried again last summer, only to walk away from a deal because of Dortmund’s massive £108million asking price.
Now, however, Eurosport claim they’re ready to change their mind on Sancho – after initially cooling interest.

It’s claimed the Red Devils are prepared to pay a fee of £50m for the 20-year-old, who has recovered from a sluggish start to the season to improve.
But whether that’ll be enough remains to be seen.
Much seems to depend on Dortmund’s own situation, with the Bundesliga giants currently in danger of missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League.

Failure to qualify could ultimately force them into parting ways with Sancho, while the futures of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham would also become uncertain.
It would be catastrophic financially for Dortmund and, therefore, their prized assets could be on the market for a lot less than they demanded 12 months ago.
United aren’t the only club interested in Sancho, however.
Thomas Tuchel would love to bring the England international to Chelsea to partner the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Tammy Abraham in attack.
And Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool have also been linked to varying degrees over the past year.
Speaking earlier in the season, Sancho admitted he was undeterred by talk over his future.
“I try not to look at the media because I think once you start looking at all that it would be easy to get carried away with it,” he said.
“It can affect players. For me it’s about not looking at those things and just focusing on trying to do the best I can on the pitch. Especially in training.
“For me it’s about improving every single day. It’s important for me to keep a smile on my face and keep happy.
“I don’t really look at all the noise and all that stuff. I’d rather keep my head down, keep focus and improve every day.”
Former United star Louis Saha thinks Sancho would be the ideal signing for the Red Devils.
“It’s unfortunate Man United couldn’t get deals in place for Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho last summer because they are two amazing players,” he told Ladbrokes.
“I know less about Grealish but I think he would have fitted perfectly into this team.
“But for me, I’m sorry, Sancho is just such an unbelievable player.
“He’s unpredictable, he’s such a great talent and if he was playing for United with Bruno Fernandes, you just know as a striker you’re going to score goals because of the two of those.
“Man United did miss out on the two of them in the summer, but hopefully they’ll have another chance to sign them soon.
“My choice of the two would be Sancho over Grealish.
“Both are amazing players and they’d improve any side. They’re so confident and would be really useful for Man United’s strikers.
“Fernandes has done a great job in helping United since arriving earlier this year, so could you imagine what another player of his level would do to the team?”
