Manchester United don’t have Saul Niguez as their immediate priority, it has been claimed. The Atletico Madrid star is being linked with a move to Old Trafford amid uncertainty over his future. And though the Red Devils are interested in a possible transfer, they’d reportedly rather sign Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes instead.
Manchester United have enjoyed a positive summer transfer window.
Tom Heaton returned from Aston Villa back in July, with the goalkeeper poised to keep David De Gea and Dean Henderson on their toes in that position.
Jadon Sancho then joined from Borussia Dortmund, moving to Old Trafford in a huge £73million deal.
And United also landed Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, with the France international recently unveiled before their 5-1 hammering of Leeds.
Now, reports have suggested Saul could be next.

Atletico are open to offloading the 26-year-old this summer, despite the midfielder helping them win the La Liga title.
And journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that United have Saul second on their priority list, behind Camavinga and ahead of Ruben Neves.
“Manchester United’s midfielder targets list in order is: 1: Eduardo Camavinga, 2: Saúl Ñíguez, 3: Ruben Neves,” he said on the Here We Go podcast.
Camavinga has been linked for some time now.
United believed earlier this month that, after holding talks with the teenager’s camp, he preferred a move to Spain with Real Madrid instead.

But with Los Blancos focusing on the signing of Kylian Mbappe, that gives United a good opportunity to strike.
Regarding Neves, Wolves boss Bruno Lage recently suggested they’d be open to selling for the right price.
“All the top players we have are linked with all the clubs in the world,” he said.
“If you go to Portugal, the top players at Benfica are all linked with moves to Wolves.
“Ruben is happy here and we are happy with him. We are not thinking to let anyone leave, but every player has a price.
“You never know, if Messi changes to PSG then anyone can go.”
But United are more likely to sign Saul instead.
All signs point to them sealing a deal if Camavinga indicates he’d rather go elsewhere.
But the Red Devils aren’t the only club in the mix for the 26-year-old, with Chelsea keen to land the Spain international as well.
And where Saul ultimately ends up is something only time will tell.
While United are interested in the player, former England star Carlton Palmer said in July that he’d be a downgrade on Paul Pogba if signed as a replacement for the France international.
“I think that’s a backward step if you’re letting Pogba go and bringing in somebody like that,” Palmer told Transfer Tavern.
“Listen, he’s technically very good and he’s a good football player, but he’s not on the same level as Pogba.
“So for me, it’s a non-starter.”
