Manchester United coaches think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing another debutant
Man Utd: Solskjaer happy with ‘hunger’ in record win
Manchester United coaching staff think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will give Shola Shoretire his debut this season, according to reports. The 17-year-old playmaker has attracted transfer interest from Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus. But he’s primed to reject Europe’s elite to stay at Old Trafford instead.
Shoretire has impressed for the club at youth level, with the 17-year-old already featuring for the club’s Under-23s side.
And the Daily Mail say he’s set to sign a contract extension at Old Trafford as a result.
Europe’s elite are keen to land the playmaker but he’s no interest in leaving United and will instead commit his future to the Red Devils.
And the report claims that members of the club’s coaching staff think Shoretire will make his first-team debut for the club this season, despite fierce competition for places in his position.
As a playmaker, he’s currently got Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek ahead of him in the pecking order.

But it seems as though United think he’ll be involved in first team affairs sooner, rather than later.
It’s claimed Shoretire has spoken to Marcus Rashford, Michael Owen and Mason Greenwood about his future.
And he was urged to stay at United, which he’ll now do.

He reportedly grew up idolising Barcelona and AC Milan legend Ronaldinho, who was once the undisputed best player in world football.
And, with good balance, speed and an eye for goal, Shoretire is now hoping to follow in the footsteps of Rashford and Greenwood by becoming a regular at the highest level.
Solskjaer has been keen to give youth a chance ever since his appointment as Jose Mourinho’s replacement in December 2018.
He gave Greenwood his debut in the club’s dramatic 3-1 Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain in March 2019.
And the youngster has enjoyed a stunning rise in the time since, though struggled for consistency this term.
Solskjaer has also unleashed the likes of Brandon Williams, James Garner and Teden Mengi throughout his reign.
And it seems as though he’s been tapping into the same methods Sir Alex Ferguson used during his own spell in the Old Trafford dugout.
Meanwhile, another United youngster whose reputation is growing is Amad Diallo.
He arrived from Atalanta in the January transfer window and has already made quite the impression, being tipped for superstardom.
And Solskjaer has hinted he could be involved in his side’s Premier League showdown with Everton on Saturday, saying: “We will make a decision on Amad in the week [on] what he does at the weekend – if he’s in our squad.
“It depends on many factors, if we have injuries or Covid.
“You never know, but he might be playing on Friday [for the U23s] but yeah.
“I will make a decision on Thursday.”
Solskjaer recently hailed Joe Hugill, who scored four times in the Under-23s’ 6-3 win over Liverpool.
He even suggested he may get a chance to prove himself soon, saying: “If we go from that game [vs Liverpool], I’d pick Joe Hugill.
“Four goals by Hugill, he’s a top striker as well, we’re looking forward to seeing his development.
“Amad gets a good start and why Joe didn’t take the penalty himself to get five goals I’m going to ask him.”
