Manchester United agree deal to sign England and Watford wonderkid Harry Amass
England wonderkid Harry Amass is set to join Manchester United on a four-year deal after the Red Devils struck a compensation agreement with Watford.
The 16-year-old left-back has been a regular throughout the youth ranks with the Hornets.
He was included in the first-team squad for last season’s FA Cup clash against Reading but he’s yet to make his debut for Watford.
It now appears he’ll leave the club without doing so as United have offered the teenager a four-year deal.
United need only to pay a compensation fee to sign the teenager as he’s yet to sign professional terms with the Hornets.
It’s clear given the length of the contract on the table that United have high hopes for the England U16s ace, who impressed in the youth cup against Arsenal and Everton last term.
Amass was a regular for Watford’s U18s last term and he’s expected to remain at that level at Old Trafford when he arrives.
United are yet to make a senior signing this summer and have been frustrated in their bid to sign Chelsea star Mason Mount.
The Blues have turned down three offers for the midfielder.
The last bid was worth £55m, which United feel is their limit given Mount has 12 months remaining on his deal.
