Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has invested in additional security outside his home following his release on bail on Wednesday, according to reports. The news comes after he was suspended by the Red Devils following allegations made on social media on Sunday.
A woman claimed that she was injured at the hands of Greenwood, who is yet to respond with a statement of any kind to the allegations in question.
He spent three days being questioned by detectives before he was released on bail on Wednesday and has since beefed up security at his home in Greater Manchester, according to The Sun.
The report claims that two security guards were spotted keeping watch outside the property, while an expert was also pictured arriving to install a home security system.
Greenwood was initially arrested on suspicion of rape and assault but was further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill before his release on bail.
United have already confirmed that he will not take part in training sessions or play in any matches for the club while investigations are ongoing.

A statement from the club read: “We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”
Meanwhile, American sportswear giant Nike recently suspended its relationship with Greenwood in light of the allegations.
“We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation,” said Nike in a statement of their own.
Greater Manchester Police revealed prior to Greenwood’s release on bail that they had been given additional time to interview the 20-year-old after he was taken into custody on Sunday.
“Enquiries are ongoing and the victim is being offered specialist support,” they said.
“We remind people to avoid any commentary or sharing of images that could compromise the victim’s right to lifelong anonymity, or risk prejudicing a live investigation with active proceedings.

Greenwood joined United at the age of six and has registered 129 senior appearances for the Red Devils since making his professional debut in 2019.
He has also won a single cap for England but has not played for the Three Lions since breaking COVID-19 restrictions while on international duty in Iceland in September 2020.
The United academy graduate was sent home after he and Manchester City forward Phil Foden invited two Icelandic models to the team hotel in Reykjavik.
Greenwood went on to miss out on a place in the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020 last summer, although he was never officially suspended by manager Gareth Southgate.
