Manchester United announced they had agreed a deal in principal with Borussia Dormund for the transfer of Jadon Sancho last week, ending a three-year chase for the England winger.
It’s huge news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who now finally has a solution to his right-wing problem.
Sancho returns to Manchester four years after leaving United’s rivals, City. During his time abroad, Sancho has scored 38 goals and set up a further 51 in just 104 Bundesliga appearances.
His impressive stats have seen him chased by a whole host of Europe’s elite but it’s United who finally got the deal done.

And it might just be that one marquee signing leads itself to another.
Erling Haaland is another Dortmund player who has posted remarkable stats at the club. The Norway international has scored 40 goals and produced 11 assists in 43 appearances.
Like Sancho, his incredible record has seen him linked with the biggest teams in Europe. Real Madrid, Chelsea and City are currently mooted with making moves for the 20-year-old phenom.

Dortmund know they won’t be able to hold on to him forever but having just sanctioned the exit of one key goal contributor they will be reluctant to let another go.
This, in turn, may work out well for United.
With John Murtough and Co. ready to spend £80million on Sancho plus a possible further £50m on Raphael Varane, it’s unlikely they’ll spend big again. And even if they do, that is likely to come in the form of Declan Rice over another striker.
Edinson Cavani, who looked for all the world as though he would leave in the summer, has committed another year to the club. The Uruguayan proved himself a worthy contender to lead United’s front line and it is expected that burden will be shared with Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial next term.
A year on from there and Solskjaer will need to decide on an out and out striker. Enter Haaland.
The striker’s release clause will be active by then – a modest £64.3m. The timing is perfect and they have the ideal agent in Sancho.
Assuming the England star’s move is a success, Haaland will know linking up Sancho will be an appealing option given their goalscoring partnership at Dortmund.
Failing that, Solskjaer’s management of Haaland at Molde could also be enough to persuade him to sign for the Old Trafford side.
Either way, United’s capture of Sancho has inadvertently handed them a key boost in Haaland transfer race.
