Manchester United are yet to agree a fee for Saul Niguez with Atletico Madrid, according to reports. Diego Simeone is open to letting the 26-year-old leave the La Liga giants behind. And a move to the Premier League appears to be on the cards, with Chelsea also in negotiations over a potential signing.
Manchester United have signed three players so far this summer.
Tom Heaton joined on a free transfer from Aston Villa, 11 years after the veteran had quit Old Trafford during Sir Alex Ferguson’s spell in charge.
Jadon Sancho then followed, with the England international joining from Borussia Dortmund in a huge £73million deal.
And United recently completed the signing of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, too.
Now, they’re eyeing a late deal for Saul as the clock ticks down.
But ESPN say United are yet to agree a fee with Atletico for the playmaker, with Chelsea negotiating with the La Liga giants as well.

The Red Devils still have plenty of work to do if they’re to bring the 26-year-old to Old Trafford.
But United have certainly done their homework, with interest dating back to David Moyes’ spell in charge.
What ultimately happens with Saul remains to be seen.
However, it now appears to be a straight fight between United and Chelsea when it comes to getting a deal for the Atletico star over the line.
Liverpool were previously linked with Saul.

But, with funds in short supply after the coronavirus crisis, the Reds now appear primed to look at other midfield targets instead.
Likewise, Barcelona.
The Catalan giants held talks with Atletico earlier in the summer over a potential swap deal that would have seen Antoine Griezmann head in the opposite direction.
But Barcelona ended up pulling out of negotiations, wary of strengthening Simeone’s side having done so with the sale of Luis Suarez last year.
Simeone admitted in July that Saul had struggled to evolve, while hinting talk of a possible move away was bang on the money.
“You know better than anyone what Saúl has asked and looked for,” he said in an interview with Marca.
“We have known him for eight years. He has shared a lot of time with us.
“What empowered him to be what he was is his ability to play in different places, and when his level dropped, the same thing was used against him.
“But this is not the case, this does not go against him.
“They are (just) moments. After so much time, players need air and after so many years, the last season was more difficult for him.”
United legend Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, recently urged his old side to land Saul or Declan Rice.
“I think if the right player becomes available for the right price, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will go and get him,” he said.
“Saul Niguez would be a perfect fit, and his asking price was £160 million a couple of years ago, now it’s more like £40-50m.
“In today’s game that’s a decent price for someone like him who has Champions League experience.
“I’m a big fan of his. If you can get him in this window, I think you do it.”
