Man Utd’s Antony quizzed by police for over five hours over assault allegations
Manchester United winger Antony has been questioned by police for over five hours – following allegations of assault from his ex-girlfriend.
Antony, 23, voluntarily headed to the police station for questioning over allegations made by Gabriela Cavallin. The Brazilian winger had jetted into Manchester airport on Monday night after returning to Brazil over the international break.
The 23-year-old also faces the same accusations in Brazil, but after cooperating with investigators in South America, he was free to return to the UK. And Antony was seen leaving his home just before 4pm on Thursday.

However, it wasn't until 9:30pm the Brazilian was seen leaving the police station.
Antony is set to deny the allegations levelled against him, with ex-girlfriend Gabriela claiming she was left with a sliced finger and a head wound. The United winger, according to The Times, will also hand over his phone to aid investigators.
Antony was tearful in a TV interview in which he denied all the allegations against him, having issued a statement over his position at United. It read: “I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me.
"This was a mutual decision to avoid distraction to my team-mates and unnecessary controversy for the club. I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth.
"I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible."
