Manchester United are keen to ‘cash in’ by selling Diogo Dalot this summer, according to reports. Dalot spent the 2020/21 season on loan at AC Milan and United reportedly have no plans to include him in their squad for the upcoming campaign.
Dalot made 33 appearances for Milan last season, with his versatility allowing him to play on both the left and right side of defence.
While he failed to establish himself as a first-choice option, he proved himself a useful player for Stefano Pioli, whose side finished second in Serie A last season.
Milan are now trying to finalise their squad for the 2021/22 campaign, as Pioli plots a way to close the 12-point gap to rivals Inter.
The club have already secured a £25million deal for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, who will join the club on July 1 after a successful loan spell in Milan last season.

It seems that Milan are also trying to secure Dalot for another season, with Milan News reporting that Dalot is ‘pushing’ to stay with the Serie A side.
The problem for the Italian club is that United have no interest in loaning Dalot out for another season and reportedly want to ‘cash in’ and sell the Portugal under-21 international.
Dalot, who joined United for £19m from Porto in 2018, is under contract until June 2023 and earns around £40,000-a-week.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to get a transfer fee for his services, so the report says the two clubs ‘will continue to negotiate to try and find an agreement’.
It is hardly surprising that Solskjaer sees no room in his squad for Dalot, who has made just 35 appearances for the club over the past three years.

United already have two left-backs in Luke Shaw and Alex Telles and are in the market for another right-back to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The club are trying to sign Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid after the England international helped Diego Simeone’s side win La Liga last season.
The 30-year-old is reportedly interested in returning to the Premier League next season, but Atleti are holding firm on their asking price.
Sky Sports reported recently that Atletico want £43m (€50m) if they are to sell Trippier, who has two years left on his contract.
United are in negotiations with the Spanish club, but any deal is unlikely to be agreed until after the European Championship, where Trippier is a key part of England’s squad.
