Man Utd want three stars in January transfer window ‘no matter who is in charge’
Manchester United are pressing ahead with their future plans regardless of whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains at the helm or not – as the Old Trafford hierarchy plot an ambitious triple swoop in the New Year.
Speculation over Solskjaer's future continues to rumble on following Sunday's humiliating 5-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool.
United have reportedly made contact with ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte over taking charge, although it appears Solskjaer has been handed a brief reprieve.
But despite that uncertainty, United chiefs are advancing their plans for the January transfer window, with Nicolo Barella, Federico Chiesa and Kieran Tripper all being eyed.
According to Fichajes, United are determined to pursue deals for the trio no matter who is United boss at the turn of the year.
Both Barella and Chiesa were part of the Italy side that edged out Trippier and England in the Euro 2020 final.
Chiesa's stunning displays for the national side this summer has seen him establish himself as one of Europe's most exciting attacking talent – although unfortunately for his club, Juventus, that has alerted the attention of United.
Barella remains a key part of Inter Milan's plans, with reports emerging earlier this week that the Italian club were trying to tie the 24-year-old down to a new long-term contract.

Former Tottenham and Burnley star Trippier is a name that has continuously cropped up on United's transfer radar.
The Atletico Madrid ace is believed to be keen on a return to the Premier League, and United are open to striking a deal for the 31-year-old – despite paying £50million for current right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka just two years ago.
The former Crystal Palace defender has come under fire for his role in Liverpool's opening goal at the weekend.
And The Athletic has revealed that there are concerns from Old Trafford insiders over the 23-year-old's lack of development since making the switch to Manchester in 2019.

Some feel that Wan-Bissaka needs to show an appetite to improve following his form in recent weeks.
There's every chance that, if United can strike any January deals, any new recruits won't be dealing with Solskjaer.
Whispers over Conte refuse to die down, despite Solskjaer being expected to take charge of this weekend's crunch clash with Tottenham.
But the Norwegian is desperately in need of a result if he does want to oversee United's recruitment, both in January and beyond.
