Man Utd ‘want De Gea out’ and will put star up for sale in next transfer window
Manchester United are keen to move David de Gea on in the next transfer window.
It comes after a number of mistakes this season that have cost the club points while Dean Henderson waits in the wings.
The Red Devils see the Englishman as the future and have no plans to sign another first-team goalkeeper for many years.
At 23, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not want to rush him into the starting XI from the get-go.
Henderson spent two successful loans at Sheffield United but being between the posts at Old Trafford is another matter.
De Gea, on the other hand, has been undoubtedly one of United's best players over the past decade.
But his impact is slipping after a number of eyebrow-raising performances, including a poor showing against Everton that saw him score twice.
According to Todofichajes, club officials are keen to offload the former Atletico Madrid in the next transfer window.
And there are already a number of suitors, including Paris St-Germain, Juventus and Inter Milan.
His contract expires in the summer of 2023, which may be some time, but this summer represents United's best chance of selling high.
If his deal is not renewed, it will leave the club in a situation where he could run his contract down next season and leave at the end of the following campaign for nothing.
According to Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old has a market value of £22.5m but the Red Devils will be hoping for much more.
Meanwhile, De Gea has been deeply questioned by United legend Gary Neville – who admitted it might be time to look elsewhere.
"We’ve got to start asking questions about David De Gea because the mistakes are coming more regularly now and they cost points,” Neville told Webby and O’Neill.
