Man Utd want Barcelona flop that played just five times in two years
Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing central defender Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice following an impressive turnaround from the 23-year-old in France. The former Barcelona man featured just five times for the Catalan giants during his two-year spell in Spain which included three loan spells with Schalke, Benfica and Nice.
Now Todibo is firing in Ligue 1 and is starting to showcase signs of fulfilling his potential after emerging as one of Europe’s brightest prospects during his time with Toulouse.
According to L’Equipe, United are tracking the player as they prepare to strengthen at the back in the summer once the season has been concluded.
Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are set to remain first-choice moving forward but United are looking to bolster their options in reserve.
Harry Maguire’s future is in doubt as the United captain could look to move elsewhere to prioritise regular playing time.

Victor Lindelof remains a sturdy choice but again, he could seek opportunities from elsewhere should he be offered assurance of frequent minutes.
At 23, Todibo still has plenty of time to continue his development and for that reason, he could represent a fine signing for United.
He has featured in all but two of Nice’s 32 matches in Ligue 1 this season and is now reaping the rewards of regular football – something he did not receive at Barcelona.
That move looks as though it came too soon into the youngster’s career as he continues to make strides in the French Riviera.

Liverpool and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in the France U20 international.
Everton have twice tried to sign Todibo but we could now finally see him in the Premier League this summer as he continues to catch the eye.
One potential sticking point is that Barcelona are said to be entitled to 25 per cent of any fee Nice received for the talented defender.
With Les Aiglons currently languishing in 10th place in Ligue 1, they look set to miss out on European football which could have an impact on Todibo’s future.
A centre-back is not the only subject on United’s transfer agenda with the club set to embark on another busy summer transfer window.
A new striker is top of the bill and United are expected to launch a move for Harry Kane when he enters the final year of his Tottenham contract.
The signing of another goalkeeper could also be in the offing amid David de Gea’s struggles this season.
