Manchester United's Premier League clash with Liverpool will take place on May 13 at 8.15pm following the Old Trafford protests.

The original match, set for Sunday May 2 at 4:30pm, had to be postponed after a group of around 200 Red Devils supporters broke onto the pitch in protest against the Glazers.

The group of United fans made their way onto the Old Trafford turf, protesting against the club owners following the European Super League fallout.

A decision was taken by the clubs, top-flight organisers, police and Trafford Council to push the match back "due to safety and security considerations".

But the Premier League have now confirmed that the match will take place on May 13, with kick-off happening at 8.15pm.

It is a tight squeeze for both sides, though, as they will still have four games to play by May 23 – and United are likely to be in the Europa League final three days later.

The Red Devils will now have to cope with playing three Premier League matches in the space of just five days.

Aston Villa host Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this Sunday (May 9) at 2.05pm off the back of this Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg away to Roma.

United then welcome third-placed Leicester to Old Trafford on Tuesday, May 11, which has a 6pm kick-off time.

And the rescheduled showdown with Champions League-chasing Liverpool has now been moved to the Thursday of May 13.

Liverpool don't have it quite so bad, as they won't be playing any matches just two days after another.
