Man Utd vs Everton prediction: Who will win as Solskjaer and Ancelotti go head-to-head?

Man Utd: Solskjaer happy with ‘hunger’ in record win

Manchester United and Everton both head into their latest meeting on the back of confidence-boosting wins. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side handed Southampton their second 9-0 defeat in as many seasons, while the Toffees claimed a 2-1 victory at Leeds. The United boss said: “What the boys took from that one is that we did the right things, we kept good habits.”

United and Everton played out a 1-1 draw in the corresponding fixture last season.

In their meeting earlier this season, the Red Devils left Goodison Park with a 3-1 victory.

Bernard opened the scoring for the Toffees before a brace from Bruno Fernandes put the visitors in front.

Edinson Cavani then came off the bench late on to score United’s third.

The figures shown are based on how punters have been betting on Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Manchester United got their title challenge firmly back on track with a 9-0 demolition job of nine-man Southampton at Old Trafford. The Red Devils now entertain Everton on Saturday evening chasing successive home wins for the second time this year.

“Punters are confident of another three points for Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s men who have been handed a 68% chance of victory. Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton come into the game off a fine 2-1 victory against Leeds last time out. They have a 15% chance of victory, whilst the draw is 23%.

“Manchester United have scored over 2.5 goals twice in three of their last four Premier League matches, whilst Everton have only managed the feat thrice in seven league games. Punters still expect goals in Manchester with over 2.5 goals favoured at 63%, with under 2.5 at 46%.

“United’s talisman Bruno Fernandes was at his mesmeric best once again against the Saints with a success from the penalty spot backed up by two assists. He has a 46% chance of scoring at anytime in the match.

“Veteran forward Edinson Cavani has hit the ground running since joining the Old Trafford outfit this season and notched his fifth goal from 15 Premier League starts against Southampton. He has a 46% chance of scoring along with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who both scored in the week, at 42%.

“Forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin (31%) scored Everton’s winner in midweek and he will prove key to unpicking the United defence.
