Man Utd trio managing injuries at Euro 2020 but have extended summer break
Manchester United starters Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire are currently all dealing with injuries at Euro 2020.
At least two of the trio were expected to start in England’s opening match against Croatia on Sunday but only Marcus Rashford featured after coming off the bench.
Shaw, 25, is currently managing an injury to his wrist tendons and has been seen wearing protective straps since he joined the England camp.
The Manchester Evening News reports the injury may have been why Gareth Southgate opted for the right-footed Kieran Trippier at left-back over Shaw with the United man left on the bench.
Shaw enjoyed a stellar season for his club where he registered six assists in all competitions and had been expected to start for England this summer.
Meanwhile Rashford has been nursing shoulder and foot injuries for a considerable length of time.
The forward was called upon in the 71st minute when he came on for Manchester City’s Phil Foden, who was the preferred option on the day alongside club teammate Raheem Sterling.
England’s plethora of attacking talent also meant United targets Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho were unused on the day.

Maguire is still dealing with ankle ligament damage which resulted in him missing United’s last four Premier League fixtures of the season
Maguire, 28, was replaced by Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings who impressed on Sunday by keeping a clean sheet in his first major international tournament appearance.
Maguire is likely to miss the rest of England’s group fixtures including the match against Scotland on Friday.
The trio are not expected to partake when United return for pre-season training in early July but could be involved later in the club's planned training camp in Malta.
