Man Utd transfer target Amrabat ‘flies to England’ as Ten Hag has opportunity

Man Utd: Shaw comments on Mount's signing

Fiorentina and Manchester United transfer target Sofyan Amrabat are jetting to England as talks continue over a potential £26million transfer. The Red Devils have eyed Amrabat as their next transfer as they put the finishing touches on a deal to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, joining Mason Mount and Andre Onana as the new additions at Old Trafford.

United are yet to agree terms on a deal with Fiorentina for Amrabat, however, but may have the perfect opportunity to thrash out a deal with the Serie A outfit travelling to the country.

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Amrabat is flying into the UK today as Fiorentina have friendlies against Newcastle and Nice as part of the upcoming Sela Cup at St James’ Park.

Remote discussions are yet to prove fruitful but with Fiorentina chiefs and Amrabat in England, talks could accelerate although there still remains a big hurdle for United financially.

United are yet to make an offer for the Moroccan as they are hamstrung by Financial Fair Play and their ongoing takeover process, while having spent over £150m already this summer on their new trio.

Ten Hag is looking to seal the exits of midfielders Donny van de Beek and Fred to raise funds to bring Amrabat in, with the Netherlands man close to a move to Real Sociedad while Fred with one year remaining on his United contract could leave for Galatasaray in Turkey.

Amrabat has already agreed personal terms with United and said to have ‘packed his bags’ ahead of an anticipated move to the club, having told Fiorentina that he wants to leave but without a reasonable bid he remains at the Italian side for now.
