Man Utd transfer round-up as Eriksen offer made and Mata contract latest
Manchester United are yet to make any drastic moves in the transfer market as we approach the business end of the January window.
Amad Diallo completed his much-anticipated switch from Atalanta, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah joined Bayer Leverkusen on a permanent basis.
But there could still be a good deal to be done before the month's end.
The Red Devils are reportedly keen to bring a familiar face to Old Trafford on loan for the rest of the season, while a promising young talent could depart on a temporary basis.
Elsewhere, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must decide whether he activates a contract clause to extend a midfield veteran's stay with the club for another season.
Here is Thursday's Manchester United transfer round-up.
Red Devils bid for Eriksen loan
Manchester United have made a six-month loan offer for wantaway Inter Milan star Christian Eriksen, claims Duncan Castles' The Transfer Window podcast .
The report adds United would usually have been "laughed out of court" due to the cut-price nature of their offer. But Old Trafford chiefs hope to land Eriksen on a favourable temporary deal amid the financial strain Inter are experiencing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirmed in December that Eriksen had been placed on the transfer list, less than 12 months after he joined from Tottenham for £16.9million.
The Denmark international has made just four starts in Serie A this season and has never seen eye to eye with Inter boss Antonio Conte since his arrival at San Siro.

Solskjaer weighing up Mata extension
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is pondering whether to activate a one-year extension in veteran midfielder Juan Mata's contract.
Mata, 32, has two goals and three assists in 10 appearances this season – but Premier League starts have been scarce.
While Solskjaer spoke highly of the Spaniard ahead of United's trip to Fulham, he admits he is yet to decide whether to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
"The decision is very difficult every time with Juan," said Solskjaer of leaving Mata out of the starting XI.
"You know he has the quality. If he plays, he scores goals, he has contributed this season. Then again, you have other players who have taken his role as well. Mason [Greenwood] has done well in that position and Paul [Pogba] now.
"Juan really contributes in and around the group. He is one of those I have discussions with all the time and it is difficult to leave him out but unfortunately that’s where it is at the moment. No decision has been made yet."

United open to Pellistri loan
Manchester United may let teenage winger Facundo Pellistri depart on loan this month to gain regular first-team minutes, reports the Manchester Evening News .
Pellistri, 19, is yet to make his senior debut for United after joining from Uruguayan club Penarol for £8million last October.
He spent the first half of the season with the Under-23s and Under-21s before testing positive for coronavirus earlier in January.
Old Trafford chiefs hope to loan out Pellistri once he has made a full recovery.
