Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has five transfer targets, according to Spanish website OkDiario. The Red Devils could take action this summer as they hunt down the Premier League title. So Express Sport will now take a look and analyse those linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Raphael Varane
Raphael Varane has been strongly linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer.
The France international is yet to sign a new contract at the Bernabeu and, with his time at the club seemingly winding down, a parting of the ways could be on the cards.
Varane has been linked with United for years, with interest dating back to Sir Alex Ferguson’s time in charge.
And with the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe blowing hot and cold this season, a move would make sense.
Our verdict: Varane would be a good signing for United, if they can get him. But dealing with Real Madrid won’t be straightforward, especially if they lose Sergio Ramos.

Jules Kounde
It’s easy to see why United want Sevilla star Jules Kounde.
The centre-back has established himself as one of the best young defenders in world football, impressing for the La Liga giants at the back.
He won’t be cheap, with Sevilla wanting £70million to let him go.
But Kounde would fit the profile of player United have signed ever since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as manager in December 2018.
Our verdict: It’s hard to see United signing Kounde for Sevilla’s asking price. If they change their stance, however, the Red Devils could slam their foot on the accelerator.

David Alaba
David Alaba is a surprise name on the list.
It was reported in January that United had cooled interest in the Bayern Munich star, who will be leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid have also been linked.
And so too have Barcelona, though they’d struggle to afford a deal due to the utility man’s huge wage demands.
Our verdict: Alaba is a good player, there’s no denying that. But, given his huge wage demands, the Red Devils should probably swerve. Dud signings Owen Hargreaves and Bastian Schweinsteiger should act as a warning, too.
Federico Valverde
United could lose Paul Pogba this summer.
And, with the France international continuing to be linked with a move to Real Madrid or Juventus, they could do a lot worse than signing Federico Valverde.
The midfielder has sparkled under Zinedine Zidane, emerging as a vital cog in the Los Blancos machine.
So it’s definitely understandable why United are interested.
Our verdict: A good player, who would definitely excite supporters. But, with Real wanting £100m for him, it’s hard to see this one happening anytime soon.
Erling Haaland
United are keen on Erling Haaland.
Even before this report surfaced it was an open secret Solskjaer would love to sign his compatriot in the summer transfer window.
They were rebuffed by the Norway international 14 months ago.
But Haaland has proven himself to be one of the best strikers in world football in the time since, plundering goals galore at Borussia Dortmund.
Our verdict: Sign him at all costs. The best striker in the world, with more room to improve. A frightening prospect.
