Man Utd told ‘none of those Chelsea players will improve team – including Mount’
Manchester United icon Andy Cole has urged his former side not to touch Chelsea players with a barge pole this summer.
Erik ten Hag's side are closing in on a deal to sign Mason Mount, whose contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of next season, and have also been linked with a move for Hakim Ziyech, who used to play under the Dutchman at Ajax.
Cole, who scored over 100 goals for the Red Devils, says the club should avoid shopping for Chelsea players because none of them will actually improve the team.

"None of those Chelsea players improve Manchester United," Cole told FA Cup Winner Odds. "They can't be any worse next season otherwise they'll be in big trouble.
"I know there's talk of Mason Mount, he's a decent player who works hard and puts a shift in. But Manchester United need someone with that 'X factor' and has flair. Someone like Jude Bellingham who drives the team forward."
United are looking to bolster all areas of pitch in the coming weeks, with a new striker, central midfielder, central defender and a goalkeeper on Ten Hag's shopping list.

In terms of midfield targets, interest in Jude Bellingham fizzled out once Real Madrid emerged as frontrunners earlier this year while Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister looks to be heading to Liverpool.
Subsequently, the Red Devils have now turned their attention to Mount, who will be sold this summer if he fails to agree a contract extension at Stamford Bridge. United are hoping to snap the 24-year-old up for around £55m, though Chelsea are looking for around £80m.
It emerged on Wednesday that Mount had agreed personal terms with United, though with the clubs still miles apart in terms of a potential transfer fee, the move is far from a sure thing.
