Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat will reportedly not be part of Fiorentina’s squad for their Serie A clash with Lecce on Sunday, it has been claimed. Amrabat has fallen out of favour with the Italian outfit over his proposed exit this summer.
United are supposedly interested in signing the Moroccan midfielder. However, they are apparently yet to table an official offer to Fiorentina.
The Red Devils’ underwhelming start to the Premier League season has evidenced their need for another midfielder. That is despite three major midfield arrivals under Erik ten Hag – Mason Mount, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.
Amrabat has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford. His apparent desire to leave his current club has seen him dropped by Fiorentina.

The 27-year-old was on the bench for their opening-day 4-1 thumping of Genoa. He was not included at all during the club’s Europa Conference League defeat against Rapid Wien in midweek.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Amrabat has not been selected by Fiorentina ahead of their Serie A match against Lecce on Sunday. The defensive midfielder supposedly wants to wait until the end of the window to see how his situation unfolds.
The report adds that United have not made a formal bid to sign the former Club Brugge star. Several other clubs have reportedly expressed an interest, in part due to his performances during Morocco’s run to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar last year.
It comes as another underwhelming performance by United just about dragged them past Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. Forest led 2-0 inside the opening four minutes, only for a second-half comeback to help United to victory.

Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes completed the comeback. But there is plenty of work to be done between now and Friday’s transfer deadline.
Ten Hag is desperate for further reinforcements – despite already spending nearly £200million this summer. Mount’s injury means he will miss the next few weeks.
But more signings could be dependent on how many stars leave Old Trafford. Scott McTominay has been linked with a departure but could be forced to cover for the stricken Mount. The futures of Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson are also uncertain.
