Man Utd target Kalvin Phillips cheers as he enjoys night out at the darts

Kalvin Phillips was seen enjoying the darts amid his links to Manchester United.

The Leeds midfielder was spotted in the First Direct Arena crowd in the city as the darts Premier League continued with Week 9. Sky Sports cameras panned to the midfielder, 26, and as he noticed he was on the big screen he stood up and gave a big smile.

It comes as the England international has been linked to United with the Red Devils, who are currently searching for a new manager to take over Ralf Rangnick in the summer, having prioritised getting a defensive midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Old Trafford outfit already has an interest in West Ham’s Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund, but those deals could be complicated.

The Hammers want in excess £150million for Rice and Dortmund don't wish to lose Bellingham as they know they will be without Erling Haaland this summer. Phillips, whose current deal at Elland Road ends in 2024, transformed from a box-to-box into an excellent holding midfielder under the wing of former Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa.

It’s thought that United’s coach-elect Erik ten Hag will have a say on any of the already shortlisted players by United, with Phillips among the names.

Leeds, however, believe that they can tie their star player down to a contract in the summer, and they have already rejected £50million bids from West Ham during the January transfer window.

At present, Ten Hag is set to inherit Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic as his holding midfielders, with the position in need desperate of bolstering.

Phillips had been out with a hamstring injury that saw him out for fourth months but returned for his side’s 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday.
