Manchester United have started taking action against Cristiano Ronaldo over his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, in which he blasted several aspects of the club. Workers have been spotted tearing a large poster featuring Ronaldo from the side of Old Trafford, stirring transfer speculation further.
The 37-year-old has made an aggressive play to leave United by joining ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ to unleash his pent-up fury on the club. He claimed the Glazer family ‘didn’t care’ about sporting success, admitted he ‘didn’t respect’ manager Erik ten Hag and slated the lack of ‘evolution’ since his exit in 2008 as part of the 90-minute interview.
On Monday, a club statement read: “Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo. The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established. Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”
And now the Red Devils have apparently started taking action on the Portugal international by removing him from plain sight at Old Trafford. Ronaldo was featured in an Adidas poster to advertise the new home kit, but workers were seen ripping that from the stadium walls on Wednesday afternoon.

The first part of Ronaldo’s full interview with Morgan is set to be released tonight at 8pm, with the second instalment airing tomorrow at the same time. Morgan has hinted that the United great has opened up about plenty more than what has been published already, including his long-term rival, Lionel Messi.
According to ESPN, the Carrington dressing room are increasingly confident that Ronaldo won’t play for United again after the shocking debacle. Ten Hag is said to have been left disappointed by the veteran’s verbal attack and told co-owner Joel Glazer, chief executive Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough that he wants him gone.
United’s actions on Wednesday will only add fuel to the fire that is the transfer speculation surrounding Ronaldo ahead of the January window. There is a widespread understanding that he has given Morgan the interview in a bid to force the club to offload him, and he will likely get his wish.
The wantaway No 7 will be fully focused on strengthening his legacy by delivering World Cup glory to Portugal, with the 2022 tournament in Qatar kicking off this Sunday. But his legacy at Old Trafford could become more stained than it already is, depending on the contents of his lengthy chat with Morgan on Talk TV.
