Manchester United have seen their initial approach for Mauricio Pochettino turned down by Paris Saint-Germain. The Glazers might have to wait until the end of the season to secure their preferred managerial target after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday.

According to ESPN, PSG have knocked back United’s enquiry over Pochettino’s immediate availability.

Intermediaries have claimed the Ligue 1 giants are unwilling to talk, most likely because they currently don’t have a replacement lined up.

The Manchester Evening News add that United officials have been encouraged that Pochettino could be ready to swap Paris for Manchester midway through the season.

But PSG, for now, have made it clear the Argentine isn’t on offer as they focus on reclaiming the Ligue 1 title and achieving Champions League glory.
