Man Utd stars trying to influence Paul Pogba’s future after Varane agreement
A number of Manchester United stars are aiming to persuade Paul Pogba to stick around as rumours spread over a move away from Old Trafford for the Frenchman.
Marcus Rashford is just one Red Devil trying to tempt Pogba into extending his time at United instead of returning to his home country to ply his trade for Paris Saint-Germain.
Pogba is yet to put pen to paper on any contract extension with United, well aware his current deal ends next summer.
This has alerted a number of huge clubs across the continent, including Real Madrid, but Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be in pole position to sign him.
Pogba was at one point the most expensive player in the world when United forked out £89m for him in the summer of 2016, but are now expected to cut their losses and sell him for less than half of that figure, PSG confident they can secure his signature for around £43m.
A source told The Sun: “Rashford and several others have been doing everything to convince Pogba to stay. They believe the team would lose a key man if he goes as he’s seen as a genuine world-class talent among the squad.
“He’s also a leader in the dressing room — one of the players the younger ones look up to when the team is struggling.”

There are hopes among the United ranks that the signing of world class central defender Raphael Varane, an international teammate of Pogba's and fellow World Cup winner, could tempt Pogba to stick around for a while longer yet.
United confirmed a deal for Varane on Tuesday evening, with the former Real Madrid man set to sign for the Red Devils in a move that will see Los Blancos earn £42m from his departure.
The defender is expected to sign a four-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option to extend for a further 12 months.
