Man Utd staff want Erik ten Hag to sign specific striker for discounted fee
Erik ten Hag wants Man Utd to use FA Cup final defeat as motivation
Manchester United’s technical staff are keen for Erik ten Hag to sign Randal Kolo Muani this summer, according to reports. The Red Devils know they need a new No 9 as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season. However, it’s still unclear who they’ll go for with the fallen giants working on a strict budget this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, United’s technical staff are ‘keen’ on Kolo Muani.
And while his valuation of £80million is ‘quite high’, Eintracht Frankfurt are willing to accept an initial payment of between £50m to £60m to let the 24-year-old leave.
Kolo Muani only arrived 12 months ago from Nantes.
And he made a big impact in the Bundesliga, scoring 15 goals in that competition and bagging 23 in total for the campaign.
Kolo Muani was also part of the France squad for the World Cup in Qatar back in the winter, too.

Yet United could face competition from Bayern Munich, with the German giants keen to bolster their own attack.
Kolo Muani isn’t the only forward United admire.
In an ideal world they’d sign Harry Kane from Tottenham, with Ten Hag a huge admirer of the England international.
The problem is, however, that Spurs want in the region of £100m to even remotely consider letting their talisman go.
And with United being frugal this summer, it’s hard to see Kane moving to Old Trafford as things stand.

It’s a similar story with Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Hojlund as well.
Both players are on United’s shortlist, having impressed for Napoli and Atalanta respectively last season.
But neither club is willing to sell on the cheap and that represents an issue for Ten Hag.
Goncalo Ramos could be an option, having bagged 27 goals across all competitions for Benfica last season.
He also scored a hat-trick for Portugal at the World Cup after being picked ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
But with Benfica looking for a big fee similar to the one they received for Darwin Nunez 12 months ago, it’s hard to see that deal taking place either.
Meanwhile, speaking earlier this month, Louis Saha was asked about United and their striker situation.
And he insisted he’d be a good signing for his old side to make.
“Randal Kolo Muani has different type of qualities to Harry Kane and he’s still young,” he said.
“But Muani has a hunger to always score goals, keeps himself busy on the pitch and can be very versatile.
“It’s a player who the Manchester United players will find easy to play with because he’s very smart in the way he plays.
“Muani won’t have any issues with the fitness or physicality needed in the Premier League, he can run all day and press high-up like we’ve seen with Wout Weghorst.
“He’s shown it for France with Kylian Mbappe, they connected instantly.”
